Bottle from Beer Frog in Spring Hill. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is light wheat, blood orange, some bitter orange, some bubble gum, some overripe banana, and some clove spice. Flavor is similar with orange and citrus up front supporting the wheat notes, citrus and banana in the mid, and pepper, yeast, spice, and blood orange in the finish. Light to medium in body and nice hefe overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dog Days on tap at the brewery. 4.1% ABV
Hazy golden-amber with a weak but semi-durable head.
Feel: crisp and lovely carbonation; near medium body is not as light as average for style.
Aroma: fruity with wheat; appropriately spicy.
Flavorful and particularly fruity. Some banana but also hints of pear, apple and pineapple. Nice complexity.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Per essere una weizen made in Usa, passabile. Ma niente di eccezionale: bananosa e speziatina ma tutto si chiude lì. Discreta.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
This is the 2nd beer I’ve had by Red Brick (Laughin Skull being the other) and I am not impressed. This is supposed to be a Hefe, yet it is sweet and malty with only distant bubble gum and banana notes. Not enough carbonation either. Very disappointing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Red Brick Dog Days Ale has a the thinnest, off-white head and an initially clear, golden, bubbly appearance, with clouds up, once the caked bottom contents are swished and poured in. There is no lacing to speak of. Aroma is strongly of banana and maybe some white wheat bread, and the flavor is also predominately banana, with some background coriander, white bread, lemon, and a shade of bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and Red Brick Dog Days Ale finishes crisp, refreshing, and enjoyable. Really good stuff. RJT
