This beer is a hazy orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and hops. Medium to full, syrupy body with flavors of resiny hops, malt and grain. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

maekchu (1126) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 9, 2013
Bottle from Five Points Bottle Shop (Atlanta Highway) in Athens. Piney/citrus mixed aroma, with some caramel. Orange/honey color, thin head. Balanced initial, okay / hops and alc come through in mid, along with harsh unripe fruit / finish is sweetish. Medium-heavy body. Not really hopped up enough for a double. I suspect that less-than-stellar ingredients were used. Okay.

Hazy golden orange pour, thin off white creamy head and light lacing ... aroma of chewy caramel malts and piney/citrusy hops .... tastes of chewy caramel malts and bitter rindy citrusy grapefruity hops and lightly piney .... dry and moderately bitter .... finishes dry and rindy with a nice bitter hop finish ... more ipaish than a dbl but drinkable and the abv is hidden well

Bottle. Pours a near clear gold with a slight peach hue and some sediment with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma has some citrus hops with a hint of grass and a good amount of sweet grain and hay. Flavor has some sweet citrus up front that is joined by sweet grains with a hint of grass.

Draft at the Distillery in Savannah. Dark orange, amber. Just a little bit of head. Pleasant orange blossom aroma. Slightly viscous but easy to drink with a misty, mushy malt finish. OK, but ... (#4707, 7/25/2012)
