32 oz growler from 5 Points Growlers, served in a pint glass Mild bitterness, fruity hops, thin body. Not bad but not really good. Overall, this beer was a let down. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This could also be a wheat ale, I suppose. But Session IPA’s are all the rage right now. I’m cool with that. Anyway, crisp citrus flavors and some woody flavors. Not bad.

12 ounce bottle from Ale Yeah. Light hoppy aroma. Orangish body. Taste is session IPA and wheat ale. Decent.

12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, golden-copper body with a medium-small, whitish head that settles to a thin film. Light lacing.

Smell: Fruity-scented hops, a little orange, a little melon rind, a little basic pear overlaying a thin malt scaffolding and a little burst of earthy herbaceousness.

Taste: Blended wheat and pale maltiness, thin edge of graininess. Lightly sweet. Citrus, melon, pear hops notes, additionally earthy, grassy. Medium-plus bitterness; it’s not altogether rough on the palate, but, the malts are not nearly hearty enough to hold what’s there back. Thinnish finish with lingering hop flavor and (reasonably light) bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: An easy drinking dose of hops.

Cybercat (2986) - Georgia, USA - APR 3, 2014
Pours a clear amber with a thick and frothy ivory head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma is strongly hoppy, a little more resiny than woody, with more than a hint of grapefruit. Hoppy flavor has a pronounced grapefruit undertone, quite refreshing. (And after having a helluva day at work, this hits the spot!) Texture is on the thin side, not very fizzy; finish is hoppy and sour. Go ahead and hop into this circle.

Bottle. Golden color with a relatively small head especially for an IPA. Taste and aroma the usual citrusy that one gets in this type of beer.

12 oz. Lightly hazy golden-orange body is active with bubbles that support a lasting disc of meringue. Nose is fresh green herb and orange zest with a slightly disconcerting note of gunmetal and mint. Initial tastes of earthy toffee give way to earthy orange and grapefruit with a finish of minty wood and tea leaf. Light-medium body is mostly smooth with a low-medium carbonation and a good balance.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a nearly clear light copper with a half finger white head. Pretty average head retention and lacing but it could be much worse. The aroma of this beer is really where it shines. Tons of citrus reminiscent of a well put-together IPA or APA. While the tropical citrus is nice, there is a serious lack of malt here which put it a bit out of balance. The absence of malt continues into the flavor. Once again excellent hop flavor but it is missing that necessary balance. Really no malt to speak of other than some grainy astringency. Bitterness is moderate to high but with this being a session IPA, mouthfeel suffers substantially. It is like drinking water. Overall, I like the concept of this beer but like so many in this session style, the body suffers. I would love some more malt flavor in this.

Cloudy yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is mildly grassy with just a hint of pine hops. Flavor is mild hops with a touch of somewhat nutty malt. Slightly bitter aftertaste with an astringent aftertaste. Not a bad session IPA, but there are a few better ones out there.

Bottle from Village Wine and Spirits in Athens. Medium thick grapefruit, sourish citrus nose. Light copper/amber color. Mild caramel / hop enter the mix and make it go sour / thin hop tea finish. Thin and watery. Session stuff, yeah okay. But without much of a malt backbone and the watery body makes the hopping unappealing.
