3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Moderate to heavy malt notes of roasted and caramel, light orange for the hops, faint soap for the yeast, with a hint of date. Head is small, frothy, white with fair lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is hazy medium amber with some big chunky bits. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation. A little light in hop aroma. Not a bad IPA, bitter, herbal and slick in texture.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cloudy, amber-brown with a thin, off-white head.
Aroma of wood, slight orange peel...
Taste is earthy hops, caramel, a bit of fruit.
Very mild....decent, but really no punch or distinctive traits.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a bottle - copper colored with a 2 cm head white head. Smells green and a bit sweet. Tastes bitter and resinous with a bit of sweetness initially. Finishes pretty clean, short finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Gold pour, white head. Citrus and grassy hops, pale malts, some light honey notes. Nothing to write home about here.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a slightly hazy medium gold with a thick one finger white head. Excellent head retention and pretty good lacing.
Aroma of earthy hops with some tree bark and a good bit of caramel. Maybe a little orange in there as well.
The orange becomes more apparent on the taste but there is still more earth than citrus. Some we tree bark along with caramel and toast. There is some pine that sneaks through but it remains restrained. Fairly high bitterness and a sticky sweeter finish.
Overall, an ok IPA but very run of the mill. Nothing to get really excited about here and not a beer I would really seek out on a regular basis.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
This beer has all the right components but it lacks the proper desire to make it truly inspiring. The malts and hops are good but their is an ending astringent flavor. Drinkable

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Red Brick HopLanta has a medium, off-white head, a hazy, orange appearance with lots of bubble streams (etched glass), some lacing left behind, and an enormous amount of fairly big, light gray chunks suspended throughout. The aroma is of full, sweet, citrus and white bread, and the flavor is of the same, with a heafty piney bitterness across the sip. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Red Brick HopLanta finishes semi-dry, sweet, tasty, and easy drinking. Overall, this is really nice. RJT

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dregs hang suspended like snowflakes frozen in the middle of a blizzard. Color is a slightly dirty hazy orange under a thin pithy head which fades into a patchy mostly full layer.
Mandarin and Clementine zest followed by green grass and lemon zest. Spice and citrus zest mingle together along the sides. Crunchy caramelized malt and melba underneath. Faint presence of sticky hop resins.
Medium to medium-light weight with a clean, almost thin mouthfeel. Flavor hits hardest and biggest up front, fading the further along it proceeds in the quaffing and tasting experience. Decent amount of fresh citrus zest – orange, lemon, and pink grapefruit. Rind at the back of each swallow grabs my throat – harsh and abrasive. Crunchy melba and caramelized malt underbelly helps carry the citrus notes.
Visually I was a bit put back when first approaching this beer but in the end, she proved to be alright…and that’s about it. Nothing about HopLanta jumped out at me and screamed for my attention. The flavors were there but two-dimensional and the palate from the middle onwards lacked any kind of personality or presence. Okay, but there are far better IPAs out there to quaff on a regular basis.
