Bottle. Nice grapefruit, some resin, and a bit of cat piss. Cloudy orange-gold w/ 1-cm white head. Hefty bitter bite initial, sweetens in mid palate with some stewed peaches and chicken consomme, and bitter final levels out fairly soon. Medium heavy body. Not over the top with hops. Well made, but just a touch cloying in the mid and finish

Not crazy about this. Hop nose is restrained, initially all sweet caramel malt and maybe even a hint of diacetyl, but then it showed some floral and citrus hops. Flavor starts with a peppery hop burst then some thick caramel mouthfeel. Lingering citrus pepper bitterness. More bitter than flavored by hops, too heavy with malts. Usual amber color.

Slightly hazed gold pour with a slight white head. Resiny hops and carmel malt. Funky swee mlat and a resiny bitter. Funky stale with a bit o bread. Medium body with aggressive carbonation.

Bottle at the Savannah Mellow Mushroom. Pours with a thick, mushy consistency. Has an opaque rust color and a firm standing head. Drinks with a thick orange malt essence and a nice alcoholic kick. Not bad for a Southern brew ... definitely a sipper. (#4706, 7/24/2012)

Hoppy, yes. Thin off white lacing and an amber color. This beer is thick with yeast sediment...crazy thick. The sediment and oiliness stay in the mouth and linger. The flavor isnít anything too exciting.

Enjoyed on tap at Turner Field in Atlanta, GA while enjoying a Giants vs. Braves game. This stuff was great for a ballpark brew! I didnít take tasting notes because I was too busy taking in Melky Cabreraís arrogance, but I remember this being pretty damn good and hoppy with a light potency and citrusy goodness. Again, great ballpark brew!

Draft. Poured a hazy deep gold with a medium-sized white head. Aroma was grapefruity hops, some malt. Flavor was that plus some pine, a bit of diacetyl, sort of a soapy quality. Needed some more malt backbone, I thought.

6 pack from Five Points. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. This is a solid IPA. A whiff presents assertive citrusy hop presence with a tasteful malts. Itís some general acidic bite. The flavor is clean with a grassy, grapefruity tang. Hoplanta may not provide a huge PNW IPA experience, but itís clean, solid and packs a respectable hop punch. I like it.

Taste: Floral, caramel, buttery with pine resin in the finish
A decent IPA, bitter finish

Orange pour with an aroma of citrus and some sweetness. Taste is a bit of a letdown. Some ok bitter but the palate is thin, almost pale ale like. If it didnít say IPA I would swear it was an APA.
