Pours a dark mahogany brownish black, with a large foamy head. Nose is malty and chocolate. Taste is malty with a nice chocolate taste, not over the top regarding sweetness. Carbonation is soft, with a medium texture. Finish is dry, and finishes light despite the ABV. Quaff Score 7 / 10

12oz bottle $2 at Beverage World in Ft. Oglethorpe. Dark black-brown, which is it? Smells roasty and in line with the style. Taste was rich, almost sweet, too much alcohol for a porter in my opinion but this was still not a chore to drink and tasted just fine. I would just prefer a porter at 5% abv so I can have more than one.

Bottle. Pours a decent mahogany with a nose of cocoa cigar wrapping, roasted nuts, light caramel, and a touch of tobacco. Flavor is a sweet and ever-so-light smoky caramel with pipe tobacco essence and a touch of toffee. Average mouthfeel. Not bad. Earlier Rating: 12/22/2007 Total Score: 3.9 Bottle from The Beer Cellar. Thanks! Pours a beautiful, rich brown/black with an aroma of coffee and cigarette ash. Flavor is a rush of coffee bitterness and cocoa. Tobacco makes an appearance between sips. Nice mouthfeel; flavors are spread well. I want more of this. This is good stuff.

Bottle from Warehouse Wine and Liquor in Spring Hill. Pours a typical porter brown with an off-tan head. Nose is roast, dark chocolate, black coffee, and earth. Fairly clear cola brown head laces nicely. There’s a lot of chocolate here. Lots of nice roasty flavors but just a hair too sweet. Earlier Rating: 11/6/2005 Total Score: 3.9 Now this one should change anyone’s mind about Atlanta Brewing and make them willing to give the brewery another chance. Dark brown body with a khaki head. Rich mocha aroma. Full maltiness in the flavor and this is very chocolatey. I really like this beer, although it falls into that gray area between robust porter and sweet stout. Still extremely yummy.
