COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weep for your Northern brethren: Long winters, suspect college football, and perhaps worst of all, no Red Brick beer. Since 1993 we’ve been brewing fine craft beers for the South and only the South. We’re proud to stand alongside grits, hound dogs and Mama as embodiments of the Southern lifestyle. We’re proud to be beer from around here. Until ’10 was known as Red Brick Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter.

Pours a dark brown with a tan head and sweet aroma of roasted malt. Taste is of chocolate, roasted malt, and caramel with a bitterness and roasted flavor in the finish. Average porter.

12oz bottle $2 at Beverage World in Ft. Oglethorpe. Dark black-brown, which is it? Smells roasty and in line with the style. Taste was rich, almost sweet, too much alcohol for a porter in my opinion but this was still not a chore to drink and tasted just fine. I would just prefer a porter at 5% abv so I can have more than one. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-26-2010 23:16:24

Bottle.
Pours a decent mahogany with a nose of cocoa cigar wrapping, roasted nuts, light caramel, and a touch of tobacco. Flavor is a sweet and ever-so-light smoky caramel with pipe tobacco essence and a touch of toffee. Average mouthfeel. Not bad.

Bottle from The Beer Cellar. Thanks!
Pours a beautiful, rich brown/black with an aroma of coffee and cigarette ash. Flavor is a rush of coffee bitterness and cocoa. Tobacco makes an appearance between sips. Nice mouthfeel; flavors are spread well. I want more of this. This is good stuff.

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, smooth sweet chocolate with musty notes, Areo chocolate bar, milky and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate bean with musty notes, grassy and metallic hops, light and smooth, faint alcohol, well done.

Bottle from Warehouse Wine and Liquor in Spring Hill. Pours a typical porter brown with an off-tan head. Nose is roast, dark chocolate, black coffee, and earth. Flavor is similar with some nice roast and chocolate in there along with earth. This is a nice somewhat dry porter that was medium in body and enjoyable.

On draft at OTH. Sounds delicious... Pours dark cola brown with a white head. Nose is roast, coffee, oatmeal, dry bitterness, bittersweet chocolate, and roasty bitterness. Flavor is similar with chocolate, cocoa, coffee, and lingering bitterness. Medium body and ok overall.

Fairly clear cola brown head laces nicely. There’s a lot of chocolate here. Lots of nice roasty flavors but just a hair too sweet.

Now this one should change anyone’s mind about Atlanta Brewing and make them willing to give the brewery another chance. Dark brown body with a khaki head. Rich mocha aroma. Full maltiness in the flavor and this is very chocolatey. I really like this beer, although it falls into that gray area between robust porter and sweet stout. Still extremely yummy.

12oz Bottle. Pours deep brown with very frothy off-white head. Aroma is mild-chocolate, roasty, earthy. Taste is coffee, hints of chocolate, raisin. Medium bodied but very lively. Slighly overcarbonated. Overall, very nice beer and I’m glad I bought a 4 pack.

Dark brown. Thin head. Big coffeeish aroma with light chocolate notes. Rick, thick porter with light smoky character, and lots of coffee notes. A big misleading to call it "porter" when clearly they are aiming for something a little bigger than that name unadorned implies, but it is a pretty good beer.
Earlier Rating: 3/24/2006 Total Score: 3.4
Dark brown colour. Oaty, malty, nutty aroma with silky milk chocolate accents. Malty with nice silky chocolatey notes, but some astringent woody ones as well. Dry, woody, hoppy finish.
