Pours a deep black from the bottle with thin lacy tan head that sticks lightly. Aroma of roasted malt, slight earthy spice from the tea, hint of lactose. Taste is much heavier on the spice, but otherwise the same, odd funk in there I can?t put a finger on. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

Tap @ Brixx Knoxville - pours pitch with a tan head, some lacing on the glass. I love masala chai mixes so I had high hopes for this beer, but it falls short. Iím getting some cinnamon and some peppery notes on top of the sweetness of the stout, but itís very subdued. Iím not getting the clove or the anise that you might see in a common chai spice blend. Drinkable, but Iím disappointed.

Draft at Brixx Knoxville. Pours black with a khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Slight cinnamon and lactose notes on nose along with roasted malt. I get the lactose on the tongue but not much. Solid but not spectacular.

Draft... Pours black with a brief, khaki head. Aroma-wise, Red Brick is trying to subtle me to death here. I LOVE chai. LOVE IT! I wanted this beer to be the dark ale equivalent. I Wanted in-my-face chai. Nope. Hardly any chai spices in the aroma or flavor. The base beer is roasty and charred accompanied by a hint of blackstrap molasses. Medium to full-bodied and mildly oily with stinging carbonation. The flavor is espresso-roast coffee and black patent malt. This isnít all that sweet. In fact, thereís near-perfect balance here. Crisp, carbonic, dry finale. Average stout. This doesnít have the body of an oatmeal stout or the sweet flavor of a milk stout. Cleanly brewed, but meh.

Pours a deep oily black, with a light head that reduces quickly to a tiny ring of bubbles. The nose is of nice pie spices. Flavors of chai tea are there, indeed, and mix with a semi-sweet dark chocolate back. The finish closes in on the warm pie spice notes. Luckily, the lactose is held in check to let the spiced-tea accents work well with the chocolate and light roasted malt contingencies. Medium-bodied, with a complex flavor palate, this goes down well in the cold months of winter, or drinkable enough with enough activity in the mouth to last all year round. Decent experiment here!

12 ounce bottle purchased at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL for $5.99/6-pack. Very good.

Poured a black color with aromas of tea, earth, light roast and a touch of lactose. Flavors are the same decent milk stout up front but a weird tea and chai aftertaste. That mix did not work for me.

INteresting taste there. Very nice taste of stout and fine thick features. Some weird thin tea hint was.

Bottle. Pours a dark black color with no real head. Nose is spicy and malty. Taste is sweet with a strong chai flavor, drinks quite easily. Finish is sweet with lingering spice and herbal flavors. Worth trying but not for a repeat. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Pours brown with a brown head and aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and spices. Taste is rosaty and smooth, of roasted malt, milk chocolate, spices, vanilla and chai notes with a spicy, burnt finish.

An interesting take on the style, with light cinnamon notes and hints of vanilla chai. Creamy body. Flavors arenít all right, but itís pretty easy to drink.
