Bottle. Medium brown, light looking, no head. Aroma is smoky with some fruit. Taste is of rank fruit... Something must have gone wrong with this bottle or batch. For me, a drain pour.

Very underwhelming, thin-bodied with little of the smoke or vanilla I’d expect from a beer with "smoked vanilla" in the name. I mean, it could definitely use a flavor infusion.

Bottle bought at a liquor store in brentwood tennessee. Pours a black cloudy hue with a large light brown head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma of vanilla beans, chocolate, with hints of dark fruits alcohol and coffee. Aroma is slightly astringent with hints of tartiness weirdly enough. Coffee and chocolate notes are also present. Medium mouthfeel with light carbonation

Somewhat sweet, similar to a milk chocolate flavor that is mixed with a smoky peat. There is also a little fruitiness, sort of a grape taste, that is also present. Medium body.

Awesome porter right here. Definitely has smoke up in the flavor. Small hint of vanilla maple and whiskey.

A good lesson in not always judging a beer by the brewery....been looking at this one in my beer fridge with trepidation given my less than stellar experiences with RBBC and this doesn’t suck. Pours dark brown almost black with a very small white head. Chocolate, vanilla, and maple dominate the aroma. The smoke flavor is light, but keeps this from crossing into over sweet territory. A little of the bourbon character which goes so well with the flavor. Good beer,

Bottle; pour is murky dark brown with a fine bubbled khaki head ; average retention, spotty lacing in this snifter. The nose is so muted; there are some chocolate, caramel malt notes..... and.... yeah. The flavor profile is at first some bitterness from the hop profile, some chocolate malts; now if this beer was whiskey aged its nearly impossible to tell. As far as the smoked elements... super muted. This beer sucks, point blank.

Pours a dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Nose is a smokey wood, spice, vanilla and dark roast coffee. As it warms the whiskey starts to show. Taste is a bit confusing. Initially the smokey oak with some vanilla sweetness and some dark roasted malts. I don’t really get too much whiskey but more caramel, chocolate and some coffee. And really not much vanilla. It definitely gets better as it really warms. This, like the Old Stock ale, has a dense foam all the way through to the end, which seems to make it creamy. This brewery is pretty good, this is the second I have tried, gonna have to trade for some more.

Dark brown with quickly dissipating tan head. Musty dark fruit nose reminiscent of many European stouts. Smokey, musty, dank. Taste is surprisingly bright as musty notes take a back seat. Some sour/acidity up front with lingering smoke. This gets more and more weird as it opens up. Dark notes almost totally replaced with sour fruit. Never got any vanilla...Quirky and clumsy from beginning to end. Not sure I’ll finish it.
