I’m not a big fan of this beer. The smoke is a bit overwhelming and the vanilla accentuates an off sourness to it. Josh brought this back from his trip to Mississippi.

This beer has a little, to non- existent head, and a deep coffee like color. It is thick, with a smoky aroma. It has a lightly smokey taste, with subtle vanilla overtones. Excellent beer.

Creamy vanilla iced coffee nose with hints of wood and smoke. I think the smoke comes across as a chili pepper-like spiciness moreso than a salty or umami impression. Big, rich dark chocolate flavors with a boozey undertone that blends well with the hop bitterness. I think the strength of barrel and booziness in the mid through to the finish overpowers any of the smoked flavors, which isn’t a bad thing for me.

Very good brew. The colour is black with creme head. It smells like smoked roasts. Very smooth taste with a good combo of the vanilla bean with a hint of roast and light smokiness. Wonderful.

Pours a dark deep brown color with aroma of smoked malt. True roasted malt flavor with a mild burnt aftertaste that leaves a nice flavor on the palate. The oak barrels is recognizable but not overwhelming. A complex and flavorful beer that I recommend for the style.

Non-opaque black with thinnish head. Not a lot of smoke in the nose or the taste. Sweet, vanilla flavors. Somewhat sour.

Bottle. Very dark pour with a nice creamy head. Light smoke and oak on the aroma. Taste is ungodly sour - just nasty. Drain pour.

Bottle:   Deep brown, nearly black, thin white sudsy head, little lacing.   Roasty nose, a little smoked, some vanilla.   Has an aspect that also seems a bit sour.   Lots of roasty vanilla notes up front, smoke takes a back seat.   Sweet, not a hoppy example.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Tart finish, almost like its getting too old.   Otherwise a bit roasty, some vanilla, and certainly "tangy".

12oz bottle .. . pours a brown bread borwn, light foam .. . sweet tar, light smoke, and light vanilla .. . a touch tart, 2 years has done this ok . .. . are you saying that the pillow case will adjust to the shape of the pillow!?! good lord..
