3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Dark, muddy brown with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate pudding, cinnamon, lactose, and toffee. Very sweet flavor, with no discernible hop profile. Medium body, chalky, and clean. Overall, this is a very dry and spicy ale. Not bad!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle shared by dudeabide- thanks again, Nate! Pours a clear caramel color with a small off-white head. Aroma of earth, leaves, oak, and florals. The flavor follows the same lines, but boozier. Not much spice. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a boozy mouthfeel. Not sure what the aim was here, but it’s not impressive.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle to taster (shared by dudeabide). Looks good for the style; a translucent amberish brown with foamy off-white head that has a slight yellow tint to it. Smells semi-sweet, malty, and oaky. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Solid, but forgettable.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a 12oz bottle. The beer pours a muddy brown with half finger head that disappears quickly. Aroma is that of an old ale: leathery, caramel, yeasty. Flavor is much more than I was expecting; very much an old ale but with additional flavors lingering on the tongue mostly from the barrel aging. Very nice sipper.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Vanilla spicy notes permeate the aroma and flavor with a hint of raisins and some hop bite near the end. Not shy, the alcohol warms throughout. Tastes like an oatmeal cookie dipped in bourbon. Really smooth and drinkable for such a heavy beer.

Sample @ GABF 13. Pours a clear amber brownish beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma of bourbon in the background, some boozy upfront and caramel base overall. Flavour is very sweet, alcoholic and bourbonny. Medium long finish. Very nice brew.

Hazy chocolate colored pour. Big light tan head. Plenty of lacing. A slightly sour aroma of spice and malt. Taste is a peppery note with a sweet juniper berry note. Sweet finish. Good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Moderate roasted and milk chocolate for the malt, light to moderate cooked orange for the hops, light dough and broth for the yeast, with notes of raisin, date, wood, toffee, brown sugar and a hint of nutmeg. Head is small, fizzy, light beige with a few spots of slippery lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is muddy red/brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, between oily and creamy and has a lively carbonation. This American Strong Ale has some perfectly spaced spice and dried fruit aspects to it giving it a nice Belgian flair.
