DocLock (4083), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 21, 2004 I thought this was made by Red Lobster. Pours deep amber/red, with aroma of malt, cognac, and toffee. Tastes very complex, with a malty finish. It went very well with seafood, and the name fits the theme. jerc (3102), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 22, 2005 Golden amber, small creamy white head and decent lacing (3+) Very mute malt aroma. Icy cold serving temp didn’t help much but it didn’t change much as it warmed. Dry bitterness and muted malt make up the flavour. Mild caramel. Sort of a drier Rickard’s Red with less caramel? Bit grainy/malty. Average palate. Nondescript but mostly inoffensive. Mississauga location. DougShoemaker (2560), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 26, 2003 Malty, fruit aroma, copper, with small vanilla custard head. Pleasant malt taste, ample bitterness, caramel and a hint of butterscotch too. Nice mouth feel, well balanced. A good beer for the Red Lobster Chain! GregClow (2318), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 25, 2004 I heard a year or two back that Trafalgar lost the contract to brew this, so maybe it’s being made by someone else now, but it’s still available at all Red Lobsters in Ontario as far as I know. It’s also a surprisingly good beer - nice copper colour, a small & persistant head, good malty aroma, and a clean, well-balanced flavour with notes of caramel and vanilla. Slick (1956), Minnesota, USA May 23, 2003 Updated: Dec 18, 2003I don't know how good this brew will be.
