2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Brenhophead (377) - Perth, - MAR 29, 2012330mL bottle, pours light amber with a soupy head and slight hoppy aroma. Has a nice light malt flavour with a light body. Not the best but easy drinking.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Maris (745) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - APR 19, 2013
From a 330ml bottle on 20/4/2013. Pours a cloudy light amber with a very small head. Has a slightly odd basement aroma. The flavour features some muted sweet fruit and some light bready and nutty malt. Little bitterness presents, and the carbonation and body are medium. A bit a nothing beer really and quite disappointing. Red Duck have much better offerings.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 KeefOz (470) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - JUL 21, 2012
Poured a semi-opaque deep amber colour with a white foamy head that held a while and laced well. High carbonation - lots of bubble trails but these dropped off such that by half way through there were virtually none. Aroma faintly malt but nothing dominating. Taste trace malts, making it a bit sweet. Medium to thin body. Mouthfeel light, smooth and pleasant. Short soft finish. Bit different from other amber ales.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 maneliquor (1551) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAR 11, 2012
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2012 Bottle form Mane Liquor. This one is fairly unusual compared to most amber ales I’ve had. Cloudy, murky amber pour with a quickly dieing off white head. Nose is full of nuts and dark, dried fruits. Reminds me a lot of an English Old Ale. Dark, dried fruits and biscuit in the taste. Still reminds me of that English Old style. There is a dull nutty/biscuity note right on the finish which is off putting. Not that good at all
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mickmac (481) - Ngunnawal, AUSTRALIA - DEC 22, 2011
Bottle. Clear nut brown body with a small light brown head. Modest nutty, biscuity aroma and taste with a modest bitter finish. Light bodied.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 GT2 (5647) - Riverslime, California, USA - NOV 17, 2010
330mL. Poured a clear orange amber with a fizzy, cinnamon head with good retention and miniscule lace. Aroma is laundry detergent, air freshener, nutty, cinnamon apples. An odd mix. Taste is lifeless, bland, suddy, moving to metallic, miniscule citrus, apples. Overall watery, lifeless.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 scotchzi (300) - Florida, USA - JUN 8, 2010
I believe this is the beer I had only it came in a can. It was good for the style (for sure not one of my favorites) very roasty malts and a very earthy overall taste
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 davidm (1772) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 28, 2010
Tap. Very good amber ale. Aromas of cola and apple. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness and good length. Palate is silky, with a medium body. Amber colour, with a frothy head.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 Davros (1473) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 17, 2010
Pours copper with a large off-white head.
Nose is quite malty, with caramel and faint nutty notes. Some lemon is hiding in the background.
Similarly rich and malty flavours with more nice nutty notes, but there’s an off-putting stale metallic grainy finish.
Could do with a bit more carbonation.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mkel07 (2340) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 1, 2010
330ml bottle. Pours a deep mahoganey and amber colour with an even light tan crown. Looks strong and robust with aromas of buttered popcorn, caramel and a hint of saltines. Smooth on the palate with a low level of bitterness and a long lasting aftertaste. Quite enjoyable.
