1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
330ml bottle. Pours a fairly clear medium amber, with a tiny off-white head, which fades rapidly and leaves no lacing. Damp grass and grainy malt make for a less than inspiring aroma. Hops are next to non-existent (and this in an IPA), with only some very faint grassy notes up front. Grainy, cereal malt and a flat, watery body follow, with a bland finish leaving a cardboard aftertaste. This is an extremely unimpressive beer. It is flat, watery and flavourless, and tastes more like a cheap lager than an IPA. If I were a British soldier in colonial India and this turned up in my rations I might be inclined to join my local colleagues in mutiny.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a lovely clear amber with a finger of stable frothy off white head. Nose is very citrus and grapefruit forward, with some sweet malt backbone. Also some tropical notes. Taste is again, citrus, some pine, solid malt sweetness with a moderately bitter finish. Nothing incredibly, but a good solid IPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From 330 ml bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a thin white head. Aromas of passionfruit, melon, citrus and caramel. The taste is strongly malty, with bread and sweet caramel prominent. Didn?t get as much of the expected hop characters - the bitterness is quite restrained, but there?s a light passionfruit/orange taste at the end. Clean finish with a fruity aftertaste. Not a bad beer at all but more like an amped up amber/ESB rather than a full-on IPA.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle. Orange amber colour, thin off-white foam head, aroma of malt caramel & citrus resin hop. Biscuity malt taste with sweet orange citrus bitterness with some warming alcohol. Slightly oily mouth feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, some residual sweetness through to a dry bitter finish. Quite OK IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor, Perth. Deep amber with a slight haze and decent, tight off-whitehead. Aroma of citrus fruits, floral hops and cereal malts. Flavour was much the same, with a touch of sweetness to the fruit and dry finish. Good.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Gorgeous IPA, copper coloured, with mild turbidity and a persistent white head. Aroma of ice wine, passion fruit, and a delicious flavour of citrus - grapefruit - grapes, lovely sweet grapes, hoppy bitter, resinous and insinuating itself though the palate. Nice bubbly finish, sending bolts of electricity throughout the body. Reminds me well of Meantime IPA. Great beer!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy red/rose pour with no head. Citrus hops on the nose with some biscuit. Light citrusy taste, quite a bit of bitterness, pine, caramel and alcohol warmth.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Really felt like an English IPA, the anticipation and expectation was high, so into a tulip this one went. Yeast patch disperses quickly to leave it misted; a deep, tawny copper with a sloppy dollop of cream atop. Initially promising, full, tropical fruit nose wanes to reveal dried apricot and peach, golden syrup and buttery, fresh baked biscuits. Much lighter than expected on the palate. Very dry, rough, gritty with a woody and piney, whole hop finish. The bitterness seems to stand alone, not integrated at all. Malt is cereal-like. Becomes more and more floral as it empties. Not too much here to be honest. Tried my best to like it, amp it up a little, maybe throw some points its way, but just couldn’t find it in me. Pretty average. (33cL, no date stamp, Mane Liquor)
