Strong Celtic Ale. Deep golden-red colour, rich, intense and complex malt flavours. As unique, delightful and as rewarding as a finding an unguarded dragonís treasure hoard.

12 Mar 06 - Quite a nice deep fruit malt aroma. Dark brown-red colour, ordinary head and lacing. Strong spiritous malt hop flavour. Bitter spiritous malt hop finish.

Deep ruby-brown, not much head. Nicely textured, fudgy, toasty malt with lots of that weird cherryish alcohol stuff I donít really like, bready yeast and some weird phenolics (again!) Nice soft mouthfeel and round malt, salty alcohol and no real hop character. Unidimensional just like their other beers. Pretty uninspiring stuff, sadly, but I recall liking it a fair bit more at the Vic Micro Showcase. Like their other beers I just canít see what this offers to make me want to drink it again. But other people seem to like them so maybe Iím just stupid.

Fizzy head early but settles quickly, leaving a thin creamy head. A few solids floating; slightly unnerving. Light brown tan in colour. Rich nose, good depth and weight. Malt driven, a touch of raisens and a little pongy. Backs up well in the palate with similar flavours. Low fizz, a little cloying. Big malts, sweet, more stewed notes. Tails off a bit in the back palate but very good. Shows a depth of flavour rarely seen in Australian beers.
