Bottle from Slowbeer. Nice sweet beer. Aromas of dough, caramel and biscuit. Taste is sweet, with sour notes. Palate is velvety, carbonated, and medium bodied. Amber. cloudy, frothy head.

Bottle from Plonk. Dark reddish-amber, strong cloves, spices, nutmeg, some malt sweetness, low bitterness with some lingering alcohol warmth. Ok, but a little bit goes a long way. Should have saved it till a cold winter night.

Pours dark amber with a large head. Nose shows nutmeg and cinnamon, ginger, etc. Also some sweet malt underneath. Lots of the above spices as flavours along with some booze. The spices seem quite sharp. Little in the way of supporting malt. Some buttery notes. Carbonation is much too high.

Bottle. Clear amber with an inch of white head that fades to a coat after a while. Aroma of speculaas with the spices cranked up a fair bit: biscuit, cloves, ginger, pepper, nutmeg. Thinnish. Moderate biscuity sweetness, lots of spices, particularly cloves. Dry, woodily spiced finish. Much too heavy on the spices for the body for me - really pretty wearing.
