Red Duck Topaz is a single hop, session ale. It has moderate malt characters, and the hops remind you of some classic English varieties, in particular East Kent Goldings, with soft earthy notes, long grass, and hot breezy afternoons lying under a shady tree.. sipping a delicious icey cold ale.. like this one!

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy medium gold, with a medium off-white head, which lasts well but does not leave a vast amount of lacing. The aroma has some soft, fruity plum hops, along with some fainter grass and citrus notes and some light grainy malt. Plum and light citrus hops up front lead into a lightish body of white bread malt. There is a touch of slightly more bitter grapefruit hops in the finish. This is a drinkable enough beer, but it doesn’t really grab me. The hops flavours here really aren’t distinctive enough to make it stand out as a single hop ale, making for a reasonable but slightly underwhelming beer.

330ml bottle from Slow Beer. Vibrant sunset in a glass with an orange colour and alevel layer of white foam. Aroma is primarily passionfruit which is quite pleasant. Strong hop flavour with a fruitiness in the mix as well. Hoppiness left on the palate a beer that is easy to drink and perfect for summer.

Pours amber with a white head. Nose shows lemon, peach and apple hops along with soft biscuity malt. Flavours include soft herbal hops and some more biscuity and grain malt. A bit plain. Aggressive boring bitterness. Carbonation is a little too high.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Grassy, tropical fruit aroma, spicy bitterness, some malt sweetness there, but nice bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle, 8C. Clear gold with a white head that lasts pretty well. . Aroma is earthy and fruity with musky longans and honeydew melon, some white pepper. Tropical fruit pretty much disappears in the taste with clean pale malt and firm spicy bitterness that lingers. Good warm weather stuff.
