badgerben (3040), Blaine, Minnesota, USA May 15, 2008 Growler thanks to Skyview. Cloudy yellow color with a thin head. Lots of coriander and banana aroma. Big wheat and coriander taste. Some orange on the finish. Spot on for the style, but a bit too much coriander for my liking.
JK (2392), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA May 25, 2008 From Skyview’s growler. Lots of coriander in the aroma. Thin and yellow beer but well carbonated, creating a tall white head. Flavor has wheat and more coriander, some butter, and is a little sweet. Hint of citrus. A nice wit. BDR (1862), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 14, 2008 Pale yellow body with faint white head. Corriander on the nose with a little yeast. Sweet body with a lemony flavor. Fruits as well. Fresh grain undercurrents. Skyview (2768), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 10, 2008 Updated: Jul 20, 2008Attended the Grand Opening of Red Eye Brewing Company near downtown Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours an unfiltered, hazy golden straw brew with a thick and creamy white head that has excellent retention and great lacing. Aroma of light tropical fruit, golden and wheat character malt, coriander, orange and tangerine zest, a touch of banana and pineapple. Taste is very smooth and creamy, very light carbonation with flavors of multi-grain golden malt, coriander, very light flowery hop character with some orange zest. Finish is just as smooth as its flavor, semi-sweet with a light coriander and fruity aftertaste that really stands out. Very Excellent! Most grand openings beers I’ve experienced are usually a hit or miss products as the brewmaster slowly gets familiar with his brewing equipment. Kevin Eichelberger’s skills and experience really made this witbier stand out as I strongly believe this brewery is going to be around for quite some time.
