3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught during the Great Taste of Midwest 2009 in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber colored brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet roasted caramel malt, a hint of flowery hops, a touch of honey and some roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, smooth and silky, minimal carbonation with flavors of roasted caramel malts, flowery hops, a touch of brown sugar and toasted bread crust. Finish has a nice balance of maltiness and bitterness though the aroma is more caramel malt. An excellent organic amber brew without the dry finish that I am accustom to.
