pour was a murky brown with a small tan head. Aroma has not of dark fruit and a strong candy sugar. Flavor was decent as well with some fig and a nice helping of candy sugar. Some alcohol shows in this one but this is still a decent dubbel.

Tap at Old Fashioned. Belgian spice with some fruit and biscuit. Flavor is sweet biscuit and mild Belgian yeast with a touch of dark cherry (figs?). Decent, but a bit muddied.

Draft at brewpub. Pours a nice darker caramel color. Small to medium off-white head, fairly lasting with lace. Aroma was sweet, fruity, estery, caramel, toffee. Flavor was yeast, dark fruit (fig), caramel, toffee. Some low alcohol presence. Medium+ body. Smooth and a little spicy. Sweet but not sugary. Well put-together.

On tap at the O’so tap house. Pours a deep ruby amber with a brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has some dark bread notes with a good amount of fig and light caramel backing. Flabor begins with sweet dark grains and is joined by a deep sweet fig note and caramel.

On tab at the brewpub in Wausau, WI. Clear red-amber pour with a white head. Mild aroma of nut and dark fruit. Smooth creamy palate with a carbonated kick. Nut and mild fig flavor. Good stuff.

On tap at Red Eye. Poured clear, deeper amber with a nice off-white head and sticky lacing. The aroma picked up darker fruits and a hint of maple, which were enjoyable, but it was airy and hard to grasp.. a hint of cherry kissed the back of the nose. The flavor found vinous notes and redder fruits over caramel and a little dry molasses at the core.. prickly carbonation and light fruity bitterness around.. some leafy bitterness and dry alcohol on the long finish. Medium-bodied and dry on the palate.. just a touch funky.. OK brew, but not a lot more.

On tap at Old Fashioned in Madison, pouts a clear red/copper with a thin head, aroma is of caramel, figs and booze, the flavor is sweet with some different touches of caramel mixed in with some dark fruit, pretty smooth finish.

4oz sampler. Pours dark hazy reddish brown with off white head, very carbonated and fizzy. Aroma is alcohol, nuts, caramel, and some bread. Taste up front is some caramel, biscuit, touch of bready earth, some yeast character, and some roast at the end with a touch of alcohol. Pretty good stuff.
