4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Red Eye. Poured crystal-clear lighter orange with a sticky white head.. looked very good in the glass. The aroma picked up juicy pine and grapefruit over a sweet caramel base.. fairly simple, but entirely enjoyable! The flavor was sweet as expected, but there was a great deal of delicious (and refreshing) fresh pine and citrus bitterness around.. juicy, with resiny bitterness sticking around a while on the finish. Medium-bodied and well-balanced on the palate.. just excellent stuff!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours hazy orange with white head, aroma has notes of pine, some caramel, touch of orange. Taste is piny bitter, some citrus sweet leading into caramel, finishing with a spice and pine bitter finish. Pretty good, wish it was this same beer with less sweetness, the hop character has good qualities.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tab at the brewpub in Wausau, WI. Golden yellow pour with a white head. Pine hop and lemon on the nose. Smooth, slightly carbonated palate. Great taste - pine hop, citrus, and extremely well balanced. Just very well done. Pairs great with the pizza.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Attended the Grand Opening of Red Eye Brewing Company near downtown Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy orange/amber brew with a thick and creamy white head that has excellent retention and one of the best lacing I have seen in an IPA. Aroma of both citrusy and piney hop character, some caramel malt, orange and tangerine character, and some golden and caramel malt. Taste is medium to full bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, tangerine zest, some grapefruit and pine character. Finish is semi-sweet, almost a double IPA character with a lingering bitterness that really sticks around long after the finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampler pour on tap at the brewpub (Wausau, WI). Pours a nice hazy amber hue, a bit dulled, firmer haze in the body, dull amber orange glow on the bottom and edges. A frothy whitish head atop stays as an ok layer, laces small. Aromas show citrusy grapefruit, lemon, and even lime. Florals meet a bit of lemon, tart citrus, and earth. Gentle bready and clean grainy malt element is overrun by a richer citrus rind hopping. Pretty lively and fresh. Initial is lighter end of the fold, cool and collected with a firm hopping up front. Bitter citrus rind of grapefruit, lemon, grapefruit juice, a touch of gumball. Some gentle melon, florals are firm. Middle is still quite dry and bitter, a bit of bready malt pokes through. Clean and grainy. Backend is firmly bitter, big rind and florals. Firm rind presence, florals, Amarillo and bigger grapefruit bomb appeal. Dry and bitter, mellow lighter body makes this pretty drinkable, tasty and a good fresh and fairly complex hopping. Really dug this. Nose could use a touch more but overall, the beer itself is quite nice.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler from Skyview. Hazy copper color with a large head. Slight pine aroma. Strongly acidic taste. A little orange, but it seemed to be more about the acidic burn than hop flavor. Still pretty tasty.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From Skyviewís growler. A good ipa, and an appreciably better beer than their golden ale. Gold color. Good hop aroma and hop flavor, with some pine. Bitter, with a medium palate. A session ipa I would drink again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Red Eye brewpub. Hazy orange-amber with a thin white head and decent lacing. Aroma of citrus and floral hops balanced out by enough sweet malt, but itís an IPA all the way. Light notes of pine as well. Taste is balanced nicely too with orange, grapefruit and pine on the hop side and caramel and sweet malt on the malt side. Moderate lasting bitterness. Most of the beer were solid on my visit to Red Eye, too bad itís not closer to home!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Old Fashioned. Rather thin yellow-orange, transparent. Thin, soapy non-head. Dry citrus aroma. Soapy, quite bitter. Dry grapefruit tones, rather one-dimensional. Thin, toasty malt background. Drinkable, but not that impressive. Lacks depth, despite solid bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
GTMW 08 - Pours hazy golden with a patchy white head. The aroma has dank hops with green onion, earthiness and moderate citrus. Theere is also some malt to balance things out. Medium body with light resin and soft carbonation. The taste is like the aroma, but it is quite dry and and more dankness to the hops. The finish is clean and nice. Good IPA.
