Skyview (2768), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA May 10, 2008 Attended the Grand Opening of Red Eye Brewing Company near downtown Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours a hazy orange/amber brew with a thick and creamy white head that has excellent retention and one of the best lacing I have seen in an IPA. Aroma of both citrusy and piney hop character, some caramel malt, orange and tangerine character, and some golden and caramel malt. Taste is medium to full bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, tangerine zest, some grapefruit and pine character. Finish is semi-sweet, almost a double IPA character with a lingering bitterness that really sticks around long after the finish.
JK (2392), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA May 25, 2008 From Skyview’s growler. A good ipa, and an appreciably better beer than their golden ale. Gold color. Good hop aroma and hop flavor, with some pine. Bitter, with a medium palate. A session ipa I would drink again. badgerben (3040), Blaine, Minnesota, USA May 22, 2008 Growler from Skyview. Hazy copper color with a large head. Slight pine aroma. Strongly acidic taste. A little orange, but it seemed to be more about the acidic burn than hop flavor. Still pretty tasty. BDR (1862), Roseville, Minnesota, USA May 14, 2008 Hazy gold body. Light hoppy aroma. Well balanced grain, hops, & malt flavors on the body.
