Bottle @Chris O. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty and slightly roasted caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

From cask at Hillsborough. Pours dark brown to black with a small off white head. Aroma is dark malty and roasted. Liqourice. Breadish and slight tarish. Dark malt and roasted. Mild acidic and heavy roasted malt. Ends dark breadish. Nice one.

Clear dark brown beer. Light dry palate. A light touch of dark malt. Subtle roastiness. Finishes dry.

Bottled@The Chriso rock the roof down pre-GBBF tasting. Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, yeast, quite earthy and wooden. Also some mild ashy notes. Flavour is much the same in a quite nice balance. Also mild notes of liquorice.

Bottled. A brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt as well as caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and dusty hops as well as lighter notes of roasted malt and chocolate. A bit boring.

Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen, London on 26 March 2010. Deep red with offwhite layer of foam. Bitter chocolate, pipe smoke and very dry finish. Fairly textured mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.

Bottle at chriso’s pre-GBBF ’Raise the Roof’ Shindig ’10. Brown with an off white head. Sweet ashy aroma. Nutty, earthy taste, which I guite liked. Mid bitter finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Hillsborough Hotel. Very dark borwn. Roasted malt some caramel, a very unpleasant sourness ruins it for me.
