COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Forbidden Fruit Spiced Apple Farmhouse Ale is the first of Red Hare’s seasonal series. Forbidden Fruit was brewed with ingredients to evoke the experience of fall in Georgia, from apple picking in Ellijay to enjoying a slice of freshly baked apple pie. The crust of this French-style brew is formed with 2-row malts and Munich malts plus two Caramel malts. Loads of fresh pressed apples from North Georgia are added laced with vanilla and cinnamon to give a sweetness, which is balanced by the addition of Saaz hops. Finally the whole recipe is "dry hopped" with cinnamon to create a finish that emulates the experience of the first bite of a fresh baked apple pie.

Nice crystal clear amber. Unfortunately, the spicing is over the top. I’m going to be burning this for a week. Not bad though.

Growler sample shared by thebeersommelier during the RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have apples and pear, cinnamon, allspice, some pie crust type malts, a hint of caramel, very little bitterness, tasty but gets soft to the finish.

>> Thanks BeerSommelier for the share. Clear golden pour, weak foam. Nose is powerful pumpkin pie spice medley. Taste is papery, cardboard, spice medley, tannic apple. Hmm.

Growler shared at RBWG thanks to TheBeerSommelier! Pours a golden yellow with dissipating white head. Aroma is big on the cinnamon with a hint of yeast and sweet fruitiness. Taste is like apple pie goodness, sweet and sour, bready and spicy. Amazing!

On tap at WOB Savannah. Hazy with a great-looking white head and lacing. Very nicely balanced; could have been too sour, could have been too sweet, but was just right. Could knock back a few of these. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Spiced apple farmhouse ale made "with Willamette, Chinook, Cascade and Falconers Flight hops" and north Georgia apples. Feel: excellent, with soft but very lively carbonation. Crisp. Aroma: vanilla and cinnamon with a light and bready malt. Apple pie anyone? Flavor: a load of cinnamon dominates. More sweet than tart.but pretty good balance.
