Sticky Stout is Red Hare’s Winter Seasonal Oatmeal Stout. Brewed with dark roasted malts and tons of oats, it is a nice balance of light and sweet. Hints of chocolate and roasted coffee come through on the front, finishing with a sticky mouthfeel. With a 6.5% ABV this beer is not too heavy, not to light... it’s just right!

Can from a friend in Atlanta. Thanks, JC! Pours dark brown to black with a two finger khaki head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts, some sweet molasses, not much else here. Flavor is light roast and sweet chocolate, hint of bitterness to balance the sweet, smooth oatmeal characteristic. Lighter bodied in the style but nicely easy drinking, medium is carbonation. Not bad at all and a nice everyday type of stout that won’t knock you in a loop if you’re in the mood for roast.

A clear, dark reddish brown beer topped by a huge, collapsing dark beige head. The aroma is roasted and lightly burnt, with dark chocolate and coffee. Almost sourish. Roasted and burnt flavor with cocoa, oatmeal and coffee. Roasted bitterness, some hoppyness and a touch of sweetness. Mostly dry though. Very effervescent, full to medium bodied. Lasting roasted finish with coffee, cocoa and burnt malt notes. If it wasn’t for the carbonation level, this would be a quite nice brew. 141219

Atlanta, Ga - Total Wine - Perimeter - 12 oz can. Pours a dark, oily black with a thick semi-thick mocha colored head. Aroma has some light chocolate accents, some earthy accents. Flavor is kind of green, with some raw peanuts, a bit of unsweetened baker’s chocolate, a touch of marshmallows. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Decent.

Well finally a red hare product I can get behind. Been rooting for these guys since they started but none of their offerings tickled my palate. They rawly hit a homer with this one. A little light in body but they advertise that very fact on the can. Good oatmeal presence and chocolate lingers in the aftertaste. Very well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
