COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Watership Brown is Red Hare’s hopped up brown ale. Medium brown in color, this beer starts off with an almost nutty nose. The initial taste is very sweet and then followed by the roasted character of the darker grains used in this beer. At roughly 55 IBU’s the hop character is very noticeable but not overpowering and balances with the 7.2% ABV for a slightly sweet, somewhat hoppy, and definitely roasted finish.

Slightly bready aroma. Taste is biscuit, slightly sweet, with a smooth, non-bitter finish. Good, although not overly distinctive.

On tap at Hammock’s Trading Company in Sandy Springs. Dark copper with a thin cap. Aroma is really subdued - there’s a little toasted malt here. The flavor is not quite what I was expecting - a bit hoppier I supposed and less sweet. Caramel malt hits the palate first followed by a hoppy finish. Fairly well balanced, just not what I was expecting for the style. Overall, I thought it was a good beer. Red Hare is a local Atlanta brewery and puts out some good stuff.

Growler from Moondog in Sandy Springs. Light, ruby, brown color with a big, foamy, off-white head. The aroma is earthy, with some cocoa, caramel, and peat notes. Some faint floral and coffee aromas. Sweet and roasted up front, with a very little bitterness coming through in the finish. Light body, sticky, and a little spicy. Overall, this is a nicely complex brown ale, but the flavor is mediocre, and the palate is a little weak. Not a great beer, but not bad, and drinkable.

16 oz draft pours a brown color with a small white head. Aromas of light coffe, roasted malt, light chocolate. Light bodied, a nice local brew

Brown pour, tan head. Nutty aroma with some light toffee notes and some hazelnut coffee creamer. Flavor is nutty, lightly hoppy, some very faint coffee notes.

Draft at Embassy Suites airport.  Pours brown with no head.  Awful looking in the glass.  Aroma of caramel malt.  Taste of caramel and coffee.  Medium mouthfeel.  Just OK.

Comes out of the tap a beautiful, barely transparent chocolaty brown with a fine-bubbled light tan head that leaves exceptionally generous lacing. Chocolaty, malty aroma has a hint of caramel and is slightly sweet - and very appealing. Rich, very pleasing flavor has malty and chocolaty tones with hints of caramel and wood. Texture has good body and plenty of fizz. I have spent months trying to catch this one, and it was well worth the hunt.
