COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Watership Brown is Red Hare’s hopped up brown ale. Medium brown in color, this beer starts off with an almost nutty nose. The initial taste is very sweet and then followed by the roasted character of the darker grains used in this beer. At roughly 55 IBU’s the hop character is very noticeable but not overpowering and balances with the 7.2% ABV for a slightly sweet, somewhat hoppy, and definitely roasted finish.

Warner Robins, Ga. - Lazy Dog Growler - 12 oz can. Slightly murky, light brown pour, quickly fading light off-white head. Aroma has a slight touch of baker’s chocolate, some nuttiness. Flavor travels down the same path with some peanut-like nuttiness, some baked brown bread, a light touch of chocolate. Mouthfeel has a nice smoothness to it. Average, but decent.

Poured a brown color with aromas of light nuts, toast and some malt. Flavors were the same light chocolate malt as well, a basic brown ale.

Half pint pour @ tasting room. Very little aroma. Color is a bit light. Taste is coffee, some sweet early. Finish is hop bitter. Overall, solid brown even with color and finish a little different. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I’m a little surprised at the low ratings for this beer. It’s a very good brown. Nutty. Brown sugar. Exactly what the style should be.

Can from Whole Foods in Greenville, SC. Brown pour with an orange tint. Aroma is nutty, sweet, chocolate. Tastes are very malty, very sweet - brown sugar, nutty, caramel. Not a huge brown fan, so, yeah - sweet, sugary, not horrible, but not my thing. 6.0
