voota (754), Melbourne, Australia May 13, 2008 Murky dark golden with a small off-white head... it really doesn’t look great. Really yeast driven aroma, sweet, loads of bubblegum, peach, vanilla, perfume, cinnamon... Complex but slightly strange. Fizzy mouthful, quite sweet and hot, but still very nice to drink. Flavour of fresh toffee, apricots, bubblegum, light perfume hops (or alcohol), spicier towards the finish as the alcohol shines a bit stronger, sweetness lingers on the tongue. Strange but immensely enjoyable stuff, like nothing I’ve tried.
Lunkie (1006), Glen Iris, Australia Mar 15, 2008 Sweet malt hop aroma with honey. Cloudy amber brown colour great head and lacing. Smooth malt hop flavour with spices. Smooth palate. Stew41 (845), Caulfield, Australia Mar 8, 2008 Appearance is unremarkable; very thin head, murky dull tan brown with some lightening at the bottom of the glass. Nose is beautfilly structured and clean fruited. Apricots and passionfruit abound. Some alcohol lift perhaps with a darker aniseed note. Palate is very clean with well defined passionfruit and aniseed. Perhaps fizz is a touch too high and does give the impression that the flavours tail off. Regardless a pretty solid beer. Dredd (334), Ormond, Australia Feb 24, 2008 Slightly citrus aroma, pours with a medium amber body and white head. Flavour is mainly spice, almost nutmeg and cinnamon and some malt sweetness up front that finishes with some medium-strong bitterness. Finish is quite long.
Quite nice take on the belgium blonde, but the finish is perhaps a tad murky, maybe it is the yeast conditioning as it seemed a bit cleaner at the cellar door. andreic (7), Australia does not count Feb 13, 2008 Looks good - clear gold, slight haze from yeast, nice white fluffy head. Head didn’t last in my glass, but there wass a little lacing. Medium carbonation. Aroma was nice - slighlty sweet fruit/berry and a little earthy. Taste was quite fruity/berries, with some spice up front and a slightly bitter end. Light-medium palate with a slightly creamy feel. I really liked this beer.
