33cl can at 8% ABV. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium head which quickly disappears. Medium carbonation. Sweet malt aroma. Sweet taste - hides the alcohol well. Fruity, some caramel and malt with a light level of bitterness.

Stallion! Well, I spent a mostly dreadful 4 months cycling in the Philippines a few years ago, and not to categorize myself, I discovered that the favored brew of hard drinking expatriate Westerners in these islands was Red Horse... mine as well thanks to the ABV. If you have to drink swill to get a buzz, this is the Filipino swill to drink. Would NEVER consider drinking this again, however.

Flavor is delicately bitter alcohol and acid. Cardboard and DMS as well. Horrid beer. I guess all countries need their bum beer.

330ml bottle into glass. Strange wine-like aroma. Golden sparkling beer with sudsy white head. High carbonation. Spritzy mouthfeel followed by weird sweetness. Finish is all alcohol burn. It’s like a bland lager with brandy added.

Can. Orange with a white head that doesn’t last. Very fizzy. Aroma of sugar, some hay, vague herbs. Medium body, not as carbonated as it looks. Really sweet, overtly sugary, some hay, vague citrus and herbs, low bitterness. Some stewed fruit. Sweet all the way through. More nothing I want yipe than off yipe, but ugh.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
On past visits to Philippines this was my favourite. Maybe it was the heat, the country, sharing drinks with the locals, alternating with Tanduay rum, the price.... But all that was some years ago and this rating is based upon a bottle brought to UK from Manila by a friend...Poured a golden colour with an average sized white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and alcohol. Taste is medium bitterness with a light sweetness, medium body and thin texture. Average carbonation. Bitter aftertaste. Slightly metallic. Not great really, the memory was better.

Bottle bought in the Philippines. Stronger but not better. Unless you want to get drunk faster, which is probably the main purpose with this beer.
