1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured a pale yellow color with a thin white head that faded quickly. Aroma is kinda gross and skunky. Some light fruit, but not much else. Taste at first has some light sweetness with skunky flavors. Transitions into a cardboard gross taste. Alcohol is well hidden at least. Aftertaste is bad, mostly cardboard. Not great.

Head disappears almost immediately. Tastes of lightly roasted malts. Strong on the flavour of alcohol.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
355ml bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a clear, light yellowish body with a small, bubbly, white head.
Smell: Faintly sweet-scented cereal grains entirely awash with cheap, unwholesome liquor.
Taste: Slight sweetness, some cereal accents, with a joining in of floral hops, but, then it grows coarse and boozy, as a flood of rotgut surges in. Low bitterness. Warming finish that ramps up to deliver a lingering tongue singe.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: Red Horse is harsh, but it was expectedly harsh. Even among its pernicious brethren, it’s pretty low on the totem pole.

The higher alcohol content gives it some taste over the other san Miguel varieties in Philippines, but it’s pretty average in the grand scheme of things. Good beer to liven up the action at a Philippino cock fight.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Pours a pitifully pale and clear gold with foamy white head. The nose has some floral hops with plenty of creamed corn and some oats. Flavor has a touch of caramel but is predominantly creamed corn, cheerios, and floral hops. Ends flat with cardboard, creamed corn, and cheap vodka. Sort of gross.

It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. It’s yellow and I has a little pop to it. Not bad.
