2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nickls (1657) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - NOV 7, 2012
Tap. Bright light yellow with a frothy white head. Muted aromas with some citrus and light wheat. Slight wheat, some faint hay sweet-sourness, but pretty bland. Lighter body with spritzy carbonation.

Bottle. This "looks right" for a hefeweizen ... Hazy yellow with a firm white head. But there’s little distinctive flavor. Just a vague grist with a lemon twist. Not bad, not great for style. (#4646, 7/3/2012)
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 DavoleBomb (1389) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Received in a pint glass at a little eatery near Yellowstone.
4.0 A: Moderately hazed green tinted yellow color. Came when I was in the bathroom, so I can’t comment much on the head, but it did leave lots of lacing.
2.5 S: A little bit of bubblegum and a touch of clove, but not very hefe-y. Neutral wheat without a lot of complexity and not very clean either.
3.0 T: Pretty much like the nose. Touch of bubblegum and clove, but without a real hefe identity. Wheat flavor is a lot stronger than in the nose though.
3.0 M: Lighter medium to medium body. Good hefe carbonation, but it is a bit bity. Very light creaminess.
2.5 D: Mediocre hefe that is missing most of what I like about the style.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Toby, thanks man! Pours a mostly clear orange color with a medium sticky white head. A sweet nose of honey and marmalade. An easy going smooth hefe; citrus, very grainy, light oranges and a earthy dry finish. Nice. I really have began to enjoy this style.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 curly (2395) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - MAY 19, 2010
Pours clear yellow gold with a foamy quickly fading head. Aroma of wheat and mild citrus along with sweet fruit. Taste is mildly bitter with apple and peach fruit flavors and a thick bready malt body. More flavor than expected just from looking at the bottle. Very solid wheat ale.

Thanks Dieter, like it matters, you will never read this you sack of lard.
Ahhh metamusil or very thick chicken broth beer and no cap at all - why is that? The aroma is overly sour for this style, lemon, clove and some other dull spice, ok but not where I wanted this to be. The taste was ok with bitterness happening early on, dull cherry and dull yeast. Totally drinkable though. Full and thick for mouth feel - probably too thick. Glad this was bought with money that was not mine.

Thanks to Skyview! Clear, dark gold color with a quickly vanishing thin head. Slightly dry grain aroma. Interesting flavor. Some wheat, grain and dry earthiness, but an oddly smoky overtone. Not too strong, but enough to be noticeable. I would say this is much more an American Wheat than a Hefeweizen.
