Helio Hefeweizen is a refreshing, golden wheat beer. Wheat and Citra hops give Helio a zesty, citrus finish. Gently rouse the yeast in the bottom of the bottle to add a bread-like flavor. Helio, which comes from the Greek word meaning sun, celebrates our brewery’s larges solar array, that not only heats our brewery and taproom, but also generates hot water used in the entire brewing process.

On tap. Hazy dark golden with a white head. Scent and taste is mild, FWIW these are too cold imho. Some fruit and wheat.

12oz bottle. Thin head, faint grain aroma, solid presentation/color. Smooth and easy but not much here for me - decent but nothing to bring me back.

Tap. Bright light yellow with a frothy white head. Muted aromas with some citrus and light wheat. Slight wheat, some faint hay sweet-sourness, but pretty bland. Lighter body with spritzy carbonation.

Bottle. This "looks right" for a hefeweizen ... Hazy yellow with a firm white head. But there’s little distinctive flavor. Just a vague grist with a lemon twist. Not bad, not great for style. (#4646, 7/3/2012)

Received in a pint glass at a little eatery near Yellowstone. 4.0 A: Moderately hazed green tinted yellow color. Came when I was in the bathroom, so I can’t comment much on the head, but it did leave lots of lacing. 2.5 S: A little bit of bubblegum and a touch of clove, but not very hefe-y. Neutral wheat without a lot of complexity and not very clean either. 3.0 T: Pretty much like the nose. Touch of bubblegum and clove, but without a real hefe identity. Wheat flavor is a lot stronger than in the nose though. 3.0 M: Lighter medium to medium body. Good hefe carbonation, but it is a bit bity. Very light creaminess. 2.5 D: Mediocre hefe that is missing most of what I like about the style. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 06-25-2012 05:33:35

12 ounce bottle thanks to Toby, thanks man! Pours a mostly clear orange color with a medium sticky white head. A sweet nose of honey and marmalade. An easy going smooth hefe; citrus, very grainy, light oranges and a earthy dry finish. Nice. I really have began to enjoy this style.
