on tap at Fox & Hound, Winston Salem. pours a clear coppertone body with a large and beautiful soft yet creamy eggshell white head. considerable lacing. slightly, viscous mouthfeel. smells of pine, grass, light hops, butter and corn. tastes of cloves and has a spicy kick to it that shocks your sinus. onions, cabbages, greens. lemon, pine, light grass. light citrus hops. its a bit water. the more you drink it, the less falvor it haves and the more it takes like IceT. s’okay.

I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this brew. Astonishing. Rich teak malty goddess. Toffee head. Nose is indescribable. This brewery consisitently uses malts that are highly aromatic in nature rather than just, well...malty. Incredibly floral and not a bit of hops to this. Thick and juicy. Notes of cherry, rose, ketchup, lemon and that’s just the nose. Luscious really describes this beast. Velvet lager if such a thing exists. The flavors are astoundingly complex. Rich and red, thick and fruity. This lager makes me want to set up a cot in the bar at this brewpub. Exquisite. Make the trip to Greensboro, North Carolina and drink it! G-rat

Sampled at Charlotte Oktoberfest ’04. Typical, run-of-the-mill Marzen. Good, full-bodied mouthfeel is the best part.
