Immy (1547), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA May 6, 2008 Draft. Hazy brownish red with a dense off white head. Odd, grainy nose and flavor... weird. Some light honey and an almost wheatlike note - what IS this? Did someone slip me a sorghum beer? Some mild toasted notes. I’m not sure, style-wise, but overall I call it not too good. Weak and odd. Finish is too weak to kill a pretzel I ate.
chandler0201 (102), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 14, 2008 Decent nutty aroma, pours with no head and a reddish color. Kind of a tangy flavor, but decent aftertaste. Butters (305), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pours a golden straw with good clarity and sustainable thin off-white head. Nose is sweet malt and corn. flavor of an amber, and a bit sour, malty. Good medium body with fair carbonation. Not horrible, but not great. arventresca (145), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Aug 6, 2008 Growler. Pours amber with white head. Amber lager with oak taste. Fresh and refreshing. Not great, and not as good as good as remember from college, but drinkable. Beershine (1207), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2008 Part of Charlotte airport draught sampler. Light amber with slight haze, a small off-white head, no lacing. Smells like a caramel bomb went off. No hops to be found in the aftermath. Sweet grainy crap like supermarket bread. Granular, strange. Collint (322), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Jul 3, 2008 Draft at Abbey Road, Cary NC. Pours a red amber with no head at all. Aroma is sweet and nutty. The flavor is sweet acidic and a little bit tangy, but still nutty. To watered down and acidic for my palate.
