Naka (423), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 28, 2008 On tap at Sportstime. An amber color with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Has a sweet cheap malt nose. The taste is a little bit like a malty fig with some caramel undertones. Way too sweet for my general liking. Not as much too sweet, but too much sucrose sweetness, without anything to match it with. Medium body with no real lasting flavor. Very pedestrian.
CaptainChaos (11), , North Carolina, USA Sep 22, 2008 Being from the Greensboro area, I absolutely love this beer. It is a great beer to drink with a steak dinner. It has a nutty & caramel taste and looks great coming out of the tap. The only problem I have is that the Brewery doesn’t bottle it yet, so I have to go to a local bar and pay $3.00 to get it. OldGrowth (1279), Cary, North Carolina, USA Sep 22, 2008 pint @ Harrisons. OK aroma, caramel, meaty, nutty. Tad hazed brownihsn orange. Good head that faded quickly, minor lacing. Sweet flavor, initial caramel quickly gives way to the meaty, nutty I was getting in the aroma. little grass & apricot too. Lite body, creamy mouth feel, sweet finish. Unique, I think it’s part of a signature taste I get from these guys. I had moments where I liked it, but that meaty nutty thing wasn’t doing anything for me. Kind of went with the pickle chips I had. chandler0201 (111), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 14, 2008 Decent nutty aroma, pours with no head and a reddish color. Kind of a tangy flavor, but decent aftertaste. Butters (422), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pours a golden straw with good clarity and sustainable thin off-white head. Nose is sweet malt and corn. flavor of an amber, and a bit sour, malty. Good medium body with fair carbonation. Not horrible, but not great. arventresca (170), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Aug 6, 2008 Growler. Pours amber with white head. Amber lager with oak taste. Fresh and refreshing. Not great, and not as good as good as remember from college, but drinkable.
