UPDATED: OCT 29, 2013 Citrus-y hop aroma and flavor. Very little malt aroma... Sweetish malt flavor, with some light caramel and toast. A little nutty flavor in finish and aftertaste. Hop flavor is pretty nice, but thereís a somewhat harsh bitterness in aftertaste.
10/29/13: Getting more malt aroma: Mostly toasted malt. Toasted flavor seems more prominent, too... Not noticing the bitter aftertaste.

Pours dark brown near to black, no head to speak of. Smells of toasted walnuts. Bit harshly bitter, not coffee but just lasting tongue miscues that wonít go away. I like darks but Iíd pass on ever having this one again.

Big bottle at Snowbird. Nice brown body with tan head. Nose is toasty and malty. Quite nice. Flavour of malts too, roasted nuts and caramel and biscuit notes. Good one with dinner.

This one wasnít for me. Pours dark brown, taste of dark malty flavors not hoppy or bitter.

500 ml bottle. Smells a little old--caramel malt past its prime, perfume, cooked vegetables. Pours clear brown-orange with a dissipating beige head that falls into a ring of big-bubbly foam. Taste is a tad better; itís bittersweet, roasty. Iím not getting any nuttiness in aroma or taste. Not good. I donít see an expiration or born-on, but I would bet this is pretty old.

Bottle thanks to Secret Santa! Pours a clear deep amber with a brown hue and a grayish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a decent amount of nuttiness supported by grain and bread notes. Flavor begins starts with bread and nuttiness and has a slight growing sweetness through the finish.

bottle - Pours dark brown with a lingering tan head and lacing. It smells of toasted caramel malt and taste the same with minimal hops bitterness and a lingering toasted finish. Itís medium bodied, robust, and overall a good brown ale.

Bottle from the Harris Street Utah state store. Pours brown with a slight beige/tan head. Aroma is nutty/spicy/malty. Med body. Flavor is lightly greasy nutty with some moderately dark roasty malt and spicy/grassy hop. Works very well. Nice.

Deep copper/light brown, clear, persistent beige head. Aroma of grainy, nutty, bready malt with a little bakerís chocolate. Flavor: dark bread crusts, cocoa, nutty and toasty malt, light piney hop flavor, a somewhat grainy finish. Malty in balance, medium-full bodied. Tasty brown ale.

Picked up at the State store in Riverton where the cool looking 50cl bottle pours with a clear brown body that has copper hues and supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a decent mix of malts and roasted malts and a dash of biscuit malts and nuttiness. The taste delivers sweet malts, roasted malts, nuttiness and then a bit of drying roasted malt astringency. To midway a mix of mineral water, a spice note and then slivers of ripe cherry dark fruity esters surface and help take this to the finish. Decent.
