Poured up at the Avenues Proper Publick House out of a 50cl bottle which resulted in a full glass of beer with a nice and dark body that supports a full tan head of foam that leaves behind sheet lacing. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, some spicy anise like black licorice and then a light amount of toffee mixed with dark fruity esters. The taste is rich and roasty with dark roasted malts rolling into chocolate malts and spicy black licorice. It picks up a faint but pleasing degree of sweet dark fruity esters that mingle seamlessly with the dark roastiness into the finish. Nice stuff.

Bottle thanks to Gription79. Poured to glass. Nose is moderate tobacco with some ashiness. Definitely more on the earthy dirty side than chocolate. Pour us lack with a huge, light brown head. Taste is initially acidic with a dried tobacco note. Lightly smokey as well. Some creaminess in the finish. Overall a decent offering but the lack of anything thatís not lighter than burnt coffee beans kind of turns me off a little.

Bottle during RBWG hotel lobby tasting night 1, 19/02/15 thanks to Craig? Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is earthy roast, spice, charr, chocolate, toffee. Taste comprises dark chocolate, toffee fudge, pinch of spice, tar. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok impy, easy drinker but lacks depth.

Bottle thanks to Secret Santa! Pours black wit ha gray head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has lots of dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of bitter chocolate and a hint of licorice. Flavor has a bit more sweet dark grain but still full of roasted malts with some bitter chocolate and a touch of licorice.

500 ml bottle shared with the group via my Santa from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, some coffee, earthy hops, ashy, dry, hides the abv nicely, solid enough.

2/19/15. Bottle sampled during RBWG 2015. Dark brown pour with a nice tan head. Dark chocolate and coffee on the aroma, biscuit, caramel, a bit of ash. Okay flavor, dusty chocolate, biscuit, caramel, a bit of ash and char, some nuttiness. Not bad.
