COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This fresh, whole leaf hop beer, is only brewed once a year, less than a week after the hops are harvested in the fields of Yakima Valley, Washington. All whole leaf Amarillo Hops are used in the brewing process, using almost 32 lbs per batch, then more are added post fermentation in the fermenter for a very floral, somewhat citrus like aroma and flavor. Malt character and body is medium, in this unfiltered beer.

Growler, copper pour, hazy with small head. Lacing was minimal. Nose was very weak, taste was bitter hops and grains. No citrus or balancing malts in this one. It was a fresh hop so probably past its prime. Where was the amarillo?

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2013 11/2013: Tangerine-like fruity hop character; also leafy and spicy. Sweet, biscuity malt--just enough to balance.

11/2012: Great hop flavor and aroma: Citrus fruit, herbal, spicy. Light bready, somewhat sweet malt flavor -- which supports the hops really well. Strong bitterness, but not too much.

No head but beautiful copper colour. Full mouth feel, hoppy taste with grapefruit, lingering a long time after swallowing. Spot on!

On draft. Huge fresh hop aroma, citrus, grassy, earthy, slight grain note in the aroma as well. The flavor starts strong with the hops, then the bready malts take over. An amazing session beer, great hop profile with a balanced malt profile. Well done Kevin.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus and hop oils, caramel malt. Flavor of rich pale malts, floral hops, citrusy hops, and a bitter finish. Good harvest! 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)

Draft @ Brewpub: Clear bronze, light head and lacing. Nose of light grass and citrus peel, some malt and thin malt. Fresh hops and a clean finish. Nice bitterness. Not the usual harvest flavor, much more full and floral.

On tap at Red Rock, downtown
Appearance: Slightly hazy amber/golden with a small white head and some lacing
Aroma: Tropical fruit and floral
Taste: Fruit and floral with some light malts
This is a very nice APA. Crisp, clean, refreshing and easy to drink. This would be a great beer to have in bottles.

This is a fantastic beer. Blueberry based nose with soft vanilla and some autumn wheat all teamed together for a wonderful performance. The absolute freshest of hops burst into the mouth and cover every square milimetre. Riveting lychee fruit takes hold mid-palate and wraps a blanket arond the tongue. The mid-palate balance in this beer is breathtaking - perfectly aligned with abundant taste yet not even close to overkill. Waves of freshness that never end too! If not for the very slightest edge over-sweet presence that accompanies the vanilla finish, I would have given this one a perfect 10 for taste. Amazingly crafted beer. Let the beer gods pray this one makes an appearence every year!

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2010 On tap at the Bayou in SLC. Pours a clear golden color with a small white layer of head. The aroma is full of sweet citrus hops, very nice. Some light grains and caramel also. The taste was also quite nice; loads of sweet hops, ripe and full, some balance is achieved by a nice malt presence. Light bitterness in the finish. Very nice. Re-rate: very hoppy, aggressive, some bitterness. Very good.
