ALLOVATE (2468) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - OCT 27, 2011
Bright, orange gold, very lively, lots of fine carbonation raises a mammoth, messy white crown that mucks up the glass. Wonderfully fresh fruit salad nose, lots of guava, cantaloupe, apricot and pear, supple, ripe and sweet with small inklings of pine and straw. Bright and bold raw hops in the mouth. A nice level base of pale malts lie under notes of grass, chamomile, dandelion and soft floral perfume. Fruit esters are there, the aroma transcends right into the taste, quite zesty and not as sweet as the nose makes out. Spritzy and lively on the tongue, the body is quite light, the finish dry and smooth. Has a soft bitterness just on the swallow shrouded by the lovely floral and fruity hop flavours. This is luscious stuff. Harmonious flavours, a very refreshing finish, moderate strength so it just screams ‘session’. Delicious! (50cL, BBE 09/11, Bridge House Cellars, Exmouth, Devon)

On tap at GBBF ’11. Golden. Aroma is non-existent, verging on rumours of bad. Vegetable, paper, bad water. Not great. Bad ish.
