Dark red-amber, with a lacy white head, malt and a little peach and wine on the nose, initially sweetish and fruity with hints of caramel and nuts, then drying rapidly and leading to an astringent and slightly acrid finish, which lets it down a little.

Very dark bitter with the distinctive aroma of roast malts. Bittering hops are evident but aroma hops seem conspicuous by their absence. Short mid-mouth finish. Overall impression is of a beer which resembles those early home brew experiments we all indulged in while in our late teens. A million miles from the sort of thing the big boys would brew, which I guess is in its favour, but I would be hard pushed to stomach more than one. Whilst I am all behind the sentiment expressed in the beer’s title, to me such an in your face espousal of a cause can be a bit off-putting. Perhaps a little more subtlety is required in both the beer and its nomenclature!
