Cask in Dog & Duck. Very dark brown, off white head. Nose is chocolatey, cocoa powder, caramel, liquorice, roasted malt. Taste is malty, chocolatey, touch of coffee, roasted malt and a far amount of caramel. Nice malty, chocolatey porter.

Bottle from Chesham Brewery Shop, Chesham, Bucks. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, coffee, slight bitterness. An OK porter.

330ml bottle. Black-brown colour, foamy beige head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of roast malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, burnt notes, dark fruity, coffee, cocoa. Medium bodied, soft to medium bodied, dry roasted bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 29/03/14. Light black with a good sized tan covering that retains well. Nose is roast malt, light smoke, dark malt, charred wood, dark toffee, earthy cocoa. Taste comprises cocoa powder, light smoke, dark toffee twang, hint of wood, light liqourice, hint of vanilla. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid enough porter.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is creamy caramel roasted malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a slightly watery malt liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A superb porter I must say and my first Red Squirrel beer.

Old Wellington, Manchester 21 Jan 13. Ultramørk amber på farge. Lavt mokkafarget skum. God røstet aroma. Smaken fruktig. Mørke plommer. Litt sjokolade & røstet malt etter hvert. Tørr sjokoladeavslutning.

Cask at the Edgar Wallace, London. Pours a dark ruby brown with a very thin head. Coffee aroma. Medium body, very little carbonation. Treacle, quite sticky, dark choc and coffee. Nicely balanced but lacking a little life. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
