Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Deep chestnut in colour with a tight cream head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass; earthy aroma; sweet nutty malt taste with some chocolate and coffee; and a dry biscuity finish with a satisfying bitterness. A very good mild.

Half pint, gravicask from the stage bar at St Albans Beer Festival 2014. Beige, bubbly head to a dark brown coloured body. Roasted aroma with a chocolate touch, semi-dry. Similar taste, earth, nuts, and chocolate. Mild roasted ending. Decent mild (shared with Finn, 25.09.2014).

Fra gravity-cask på St Albans Beer & Cider festival 25 Sep 14. Ultramørkebrun. OK kremaktig skum som daler sakte. Litt lacing. God aroma av røstet malt. Smaken det samme med innslag av frukt.

On tap @ Harp, London, UK. Pours with a brown colour, small long lasting white head. Aroma is medium malty with notes of bread, additional notes of cereal abd roasted malts; slightly hoppy. Taste is medium sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.

Cask @ Dirty Dicks, Halifax. Dark mahogany coloured with a creamy head. Aptly this has a light nutty character.

Cask west riding dewsbury. Aroma is choc burnt toffee. Mahogany red colour ok white head lacing. Taste is toffee slight roasted notes dark fruits. Medium body. Good mild.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 1/3/2014. Reddish amber, with a slight, off-white head. Sweet berry fruits, a hint or roast and nuttiness, before a gentle finish. Ok.

Pint at the Nags Head in Reading. Nice yellow brown creamy head on a very dark brown beer. Dry hops, light roast, just a hint of liquorice. Drinkable but a little lacking in flavour. Aroma is sweet, with some light roast.

Cask at the St Albans beer festival 2013. Red colour with a loose grey head. Aroma is raisin nutty malt and toffee. Flavour is musty green apple. Nutty malt. Some raisin and metal.

Growler (plastic milk bottle) of the stillage in Red Squirrel’s Chesham Brewery Shop. Poured a clear dark ruby with no head. Aroma of smoked malt, cereal and grapes. Flavours of dark fruit, toast and a slight hint of iodine. Ends with coffee, burnt malt and some citrus hops.
