On tap @ Harp, London, UK. Pours with a brown colour, small long lasting white head. Aroma is medium malty with notes of bread, additional notes of cereal abd roasted malts; slightly hoppy. Taste is medium sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.

Cask west riding dewsbury. Aroma is choc burnt toffee. Mahogany red colour ok white head lacing. Taste is toffee slight roasted notes dark fruits. Medium body. Good mild.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 1/3/2014. Reddish amber, with a slight, off-white head. Sweet berry fruits, a hint or roast and nuttiness, before a gentle finish. Ok.

Pint at the Nags Head in Reading. Nice yellow brown creamy head on a very dark brown beer. Dry hops, light roast, just a hint of liquorice. Drinkable but a little lacking in flavour. Aroma is sweet, with some light roast.

Growler (plastic milk bottle) of the stillage in Red Squirrel’s Chesham Brewery Shop. Poured a clear dark ruby with no head. Aroma of smoked malt, cereal and grapes. Flavours of dark fruit, toast and a slight hint of iodine. Ends with coffee, burnt malt and some citrus hops.

Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small, frothy to fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toated, caramel, light chocolate, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, sweet licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20120503]
