Red Star Chocolate Abbey Ale

Did not taste any hints of chocolate. Instead it had a weird taste to it that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a dark brown color with a medium sized dark tan head. The aroma is roasty malts and light floral hops. The flavor is roasty and toasty malts with moderate sweet chocolate and light ripe fruits underneath. There is a light floral hop undertone and a hint of smokiness on the finish. Quite complex and rather tasty.
