For what they charge for this stuff it's not very good.Average american beer with not enough flavor. I imagine that in Jamaica this is good when it is cold and your very hot.

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2003 What a great beer! Just the right amount of flavor with a killer nose. Goes down smooth with no hard aftertaste. Definately one of my favorites.

This may be what American mega Pilz should taste like. Take Coors add add 5 times the malt flavor and 15 times the hops and you have this beer. But this beer is a bit pricey and all you really get is a better grade of mega swill

A great beer to relax with and get away from the usual Busch and Bud. Better than average flavor with a smooth follow up. Great looking bottle and quite possibly the funniest radio commercials in the world. Not a great beer, but it is certainly better than average.

A great beer for a hot day. I just got back from Jamaica where it was 90 degrees every day and I probably drank a keg of this stuff. It goes down smooth and tastes very refreshing. I'd highly recommend it for a hot summer day - and of coures, if you're in Jamaica!

When I heard it was a Jamacian beer, i kinda shrugged a bit thinking it would take like a bad import. But I tastes exactly like any other American Standard out there. Nice bottle design, and a smooth, cold taste, a nice overall experience, but hell, it's just like so many other beers.

This beer is readily available at grocery stores and leads the buyer to think they're getting something special because of its uniquely shaped bottle and Jamaican origin. Don't be fooled...it's a boring beer.

Strong lager aroma. Slight haze and decent carbonation reveal themselves in the body. Small, white head that fully diminishes. Bland flavor, though a decent accompaniement to spicy food. A little better than your average lager, but nothing special. This is your typical international lager.

Red Stripe is not a bad beer, but there are beers that taste better and have more character. I'll give Jamaca a little credit for this lager, but not too much maan.

Does anybody out there ever seek this stuff out? It usually seems to be something that's the lesser of evils at a beach bar. Having recently spent a week-end at the beach getting sunburned, this beer has kind of grown on me. Something about it tastes better than anything else in a certain situation: you are a Yankee in a strange southern beach bar, eating spicy sea food. Perhaps it was the strangely comforting grenade-like shape of the bottle, but it did a wonderful job easing the pain of sunburn and the anxiety caused by biker chicks in Dixie flag bikinis.
