First brewed in 1938.

I like the bottle and the commercials. The beer, however, is bland and uninteresting. But if you're in the Carribean, it is a nice beer to drink in mass quantities; a nice escape from the ever-present Corona.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2009 Jamaica is a beautiful country...but it’s a damned surprise a tourist would ever go back...after drinking this stuff. After 7 days at the Sandals resort, I was ready to kill myself... NO BLATZ ANYWHERE IN THAT FREAKING COUNTRY! Is it any surprise they’re not a superpower? Blatz FOREVER!

Not great, but certainly better than the more widely drank corona. Also, a nice one to pick for a tropical meal, etc.

Very boring beer. Very light and watery. Slightly sweet. It's good for a sweltering day in the summer after you've been digging trenches.

drank from the bottle. Very refreshing lager. Went great with my jerk pork.

Sweet, weak hop aroma.Bland tasting, boring typical mass produced lager with a dry finish.Better than most South American lagers.

This beer would be awesome with Jamaican food. I never think of beer as something you'd drink alone, unless it was obviously meant for that end. This beer gets marks for the unique bottle shape and the non-pretentious commercial description.

Massive, quickly disappearing foamy white head. Metallic, grainy nose. Flavor is very strawlike...very similar to Estrella Galicia, in fact. Some alright grain flavors, but they ain't all barley if you know what I mean. Actually a bit of hop bitterness at the end, although lacking in flavor. Watery finish.

An interesting taste, but a bit too watery. Refreshing, perhaps, but there's just not much substance to this beer.
