2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Uninteresting, but nothing offensive. More of a beer than American Macros, but not by enough to brag about.

Quite crisp and refreshing - therefore characterless and mediocre. Not a distaster, though by any means. Gluggable.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Had to re-rate this beer. I stick to my 1.9 rating if drank cold, however this beer is much better when I tried it at room temperature. The flavor and palate are both much better when it is warm. I rate this beer at about a 2.3 or 2.4 when at room temperature.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Not bad for a tropical lager. Malt balanced flavour, yet not to sweet or offensive. Iíd drink it again. Plus, itís from Jamaica.

Iíve always had this notion that Red Stripe sucked since I drank it in college and didnít like it much, but to be fair, itís not all that awful. The aroma is worse than the taste and misleads you a bit. Cool bottle!

One of the more fun imports. Excellent on a hot summer day.

2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This clearly isnít the same beer I used to drink years ago...the ownership probably has considerably to do with this disappointing state of affairs. In any event, the present edition of this beer is still drinkable, but its bite now seems to owe to extra carbonation that substitutes for its previous assertive hop profile that used to make this brew so distinctive. There is still an undercurrent of malt that provides a hint of sweetness, but the balance of flavors just isnít there anymore. It finishes dry but without lingering benefit. The head dissipates quickly after pouring. Overall, this is a beer to drink for a hot day...not unpleasant, but not even a ghost of the tropical classic it used to be.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
The only redemption for this beer is that it isnít offensive. And that you should have bought it while baking in the Carribean sun. About as good as your old familiar American lager benchmarks.
