First brewed in 1938.
It is a light alcohol drink with not too strong bitterness but rather soft taste; therefore, it’s easy to drink it up.
Brewed for the UK market by Charles Wells since 1976.
Brewed for US market at City Brewery’s Latrobe plant since 2012.

Had a bottle of this tonight at the BW3’s in Dublin. Fresh spicy nose with floral accents. Pours a clear light straw yellow. The tall white head is somewhere between frothy and creamy. The head is mostly lasting with good lacing. The flavor has a spicy alcoholic quality with a clean finish. Balanced but not very deep. The light body is creamy and lively with a lightly astringent finish. Better than countless other american standards. But not an offering from a strong style.

This beer seems to vary quite a bit. Last bottle was skunked.

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2005 Came in with no expectations, considering it’s a Jamaican brew. Nothing particularly notable about it, other than the stubby bottle. Below average across the board. Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up! It’s bobsled time! Cool Runnings!!!

October, 2002 Brewed under licence here in the UK. There is nothing distinctive about this lager, other than the marketing - and certainty nothing typically Jamaican about it; indeed, because it is brewed here in England by Charles Wells, its main constituent - water - is English. [1.4]
July, 2014 440ml red and white can, part of a four for £4 deal from Tesco. Soft, slightly sweet, easy drinking lager. Nothing offensive about these. But nothing distinctive or particularly pleasant either. Ideal for the beach on a sunny day. Or for the Notting Hill Carnival. [2.3]

This is NOT a hot weather beer. It is extremely sweet and malty and it’s very low carbonated. This is definately NOT a thirstquencher. Extremely bad beer and extremely ugly bottle. One of the worst beer I’ve had for sure. I only drank those because I got them for free.

Hot weather beer. Light gold color, medium head. A middle of the road lager. Slightly over carbonated? Mild malts and hops. Milder flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round, slightly spritzy.Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. Light and refreshing.

Every second bottle of this one tasted of water only! Also, the 1/6 of the bottle was missing! Might be a bad deliverance... No actual taste of nothing.

Very ugly bottle and very sweet and cloying. Sometimes it tastes of too old, bad water.

Probably tastes better in Jamaica - definitely a warm weather beer
