COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 1938.
It is a light alcohol drink with not too strong bitterness but rather soft taste; therefore, it's easy to drink it up.

Very clear golden straw color. Very white head on top that didn’t stick around too long. Several small bubbles coming up from the bottom. Not leaving a lot of lacing. It is amazingly clear however. The smell had some grain. Not getting any hops really. Clean smell. Nothing offensive. Not getting a whole lot of anything really. Maybe only the faintest hint of a biscuit or dough in the nose. The taste. Again, nothing offensive but............... The mouthfeel was thin, crisp, dry and smooth. Haven’t had this beer for about 2 yrs. Not as good as I remember. I can drink it, but definitely nothing special. I would, however, choose this over most macro brews.

Can, however I wish to try from the stubby bottle. Poured a decent head and retained. Very little flavour, if any at all. Smells kind of like bread, grass.

Red Stripe has a thick, white head, and a very clear straw appearance. Carbonation is high. Barley is quite noticeable in the aroma, and a spicy aspect is noted. The taste is very bready, with a pleasant hop balance. Mouth-feel is light and watery, and Red Stripe finishes crisp and wet. I really enjoyed this beer and would certainly have it again. Hurray, beer!

11.2 oz stubby bottle into mug. Wow, another smelly beer. I picked some real winners tonight. Smells of vomit, cat piss, chemicals, skunk, and wet hay. Pours a clear pale gold with a thick head that sustains itself much better than the last couple of beers I drank; also leaves some pretty good lacework. Taste is sweet with some very faint bitterness and sour coming up in the finish. Also some alcohol in the finish (weird, considering the low ABV). Highly carbonated and more body than any beer I’ve had tonight (that’s not saying much--it’s still very light-bodied). This beer would be much better I think if I were on a beach in Jamaica, spliff in one hand, one of these stubbies in the other.

From the LCBO. Pours, well, surpisingly dark. Clear, iight head. Aroma is skunky, grassy with really slight hint at cereal. Was disappointed by the taste, as I expected something a little ... heavier, especially with the color. Not much to see there, but I guess that somebody would like to drink this for the sake of completion. Actually, if your expectations are low, you can be surprised.

Pours a little darker than the average lager, nose is bright, mild bitterness, very refreshing, a decent adjunct lager.

pale piss color without head... smells skunky with a slight hint of hops... slightly bitter salty taste, pretty harsh at first with the aftertaste present for a while... pretty gross

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2011 I actually like this beer. It has a light and slightly sweet, citrusy taste. It is light gold or pale amber and very well carbonated. Very seasonal: Very good in the summer time, probably not so much during winter.
