COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 1938.
It is a light alcohol drink with not too strong bitterness but rather soft taste; therefore, it's easy to drink it up.

Bottle. Pours a light yellow with a small white head. Aroma is skunky and metallic. Tastes the same. Maybe a bad bottle, but won’t try again.

3 Bland corny aroma, and a chemical coctail of things better not investigated.
2- Very pale, brief head - heading for a 1.
2 Ugh! What a horrible chemical mess. Gonna-make-you-blind estery retronasals.
1 Fizzy, weak and watery. Finish a chemical mish-mash with added pencil sharpenings.
4 Anna I hate you - this was supposed to be my reward for typing in my GBBF backlog!

This is a beer that should only be consumed when there are no other options, while camping, on a lake, or doing any other sort of activity when beer is a part of an activity and taste doesn’t really matter. It’s quintessentially alcoholic water in a bottle. OK to drink, but definitely one of the last on the list if selection is an option. It’s beer though, and beer is good.

11.2 oz bottle. Pale yellow appearance. Rapidly fading head. Aroma is doughy, almost kind of smells like corn, and somewhat yeasty. Taste is pretty bitter and stale. Palate is rough with a crisp aftertaste but really a pretty disagreeable beer.

Slight corn/skunk aroma with a touch of herbs (weak but noticeable). Golden & crystal clear in the glass. Basic lager flavor, cereal corn and some trailing herbal bitterness. Probably good at the beach or the lake...

Tasted blind. Dark straw color with skunky smell and some bread. Flavor is corn with some sweetness. Low on flavor.

Clear and yellow, good head (today’s theme). Clean aroma - some malt or corn perhaps. Taste light and refreshing. Dare I say it’s the best beer I’ve had today?

12 ounce bottle. I’ve always appreciated the craftsmanship of Red Stripe, from the shortened (nonexistent really) neck down to the painted label. Red Stripe has also been one of my standbys, something to drink when there’s nothing else around or no other real options when I’m at a restaraunt or bar. Pours a light straw with some mild carbonation. Volumous head that doesn’t last very long. Light cereal aroma, not much else going on. Great mouthfeel, the beer isn’t overly carbonated. Mild cereal notes yield to a super crisp and super clean finish. There’s a reason I’ve enjoyed this beer for so long. I’m not a fan of lagers really, particularly light lagers, so a beer like this really has to work to impress me. Red Stripe does that. I’m always worried that I’m going to get the bitterness or skunkiness that I find in some of the macro beers or in the green bottle European styles, but it’s always crisp, fresh, and clean. It’s one of those beers that just leaves you wanting to drink more as you go along. Probably one of the best versions of this style of beer that you can find.
