First brewed in 1938.
It is a light alcohol drink with not too strong bitterness but rather soft taste; therefore, it’s easy to drink it up.
Brewed for the UK market by Charles Wells since 1976.
Brewed for US market at City Brewery’s Latrobe plant since 2012.

Bottle. Clear yellow gold pour with a white head. Typical pale lager. Drink it cold and it has a crisp, clean, albeit, weak taste. Not the worst beer in the world.

484ml can. To be honest, I don’t mind if they keep the extra 16ml. All that Jamaican character, filtered through some industrialised process and stuck in a can by a UK brewery. Still counts as a Jamaica tick apparently, so no complaints from me. BB Aug 2015. I’ve had this many, many a time, as it used to be a university favourite. This time it’s at a BYOB at a work do. Clear pale yellow, lightly sparkling, big foamy white head. Aroma is musty, some fart and vegetable. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is light malt, vegetal, metallic, light bitterness. Below average lager, even when very cold.

Appearance: Medium shade of straw color in the body which rests under a thick white fluffy head. Great clarity and ample visible carbonation. The head fades after a few minutes leaving very little lacing on the glass.

Aroma: Classic lager aroma, a bit tangy smelling with small notes of spice and lemon. Overall it is an average smelling adjunct lager.

Taste: A tad bit grassy with a hint of Cheerio cereal flavor in the aftertaste. A light bite of bitterness. Just a hint of alcohol flavor after drinking it for a while.

Mouthfeel: Good crisp mouthfeel with just enough bitterness at the end.

Overall: It feels like a run-of-the-mill adjunct lager without any exceptional flavors.

Bottle 33cl @ detolly. Golden yellow color with small white head. Aroma of typical makrolager. Taste light sweetness and a bit of citrus. It ok.

Not a lager lover by any means but is drinkable if cold and at least you can taste the alcohol in average carbonation and colour drunk from a can.

It poured a clear golden color with a white head. The aroma was of corn with some light caramels. The taste was the same with a hint of bitterness.

330 ml can bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.

Pale dull golden yellow colour; Half finger head and soapy white foam which fades in 30 seconds; Small sticky lacing with notable slight carbonation; Slightly pungent smell of malt, with strong grain, strong syrup, bread, lemon and moderate grass; Mid to light sweet taste of moderate malt, with strong grain, corn, syrup, light bread, light lemon, moderate to light bitter hops and light grass; Mid to light body, fairly slick palate; Mouth feel is pretty strong malty body, stronger than most Macro Pales, but also fairly sweet and grainy, probably corn adjuncts is included. Not off taste otherwise, quite bready and fair macro-level hops. Sort of okay… Hoppiness is notable lemon and grassy nose and taste. Bitterness is moderate to light, still not enough to counter the light syrup for sweet and low bitter finish; Slightly dry after taste. Easy and sweet to mouth.

Comments: Would love to give this one a spanking, but I am quite surprised by its rather good maltyness and notable hops. Still it’s not properly attenuated, with syrupy sweet and grain taste marred an otherwise solid feeling. A couple pars below Carlsberg, and drinkable when this is the only thing available in… er, Jamaica.

Bottle. A sour aroma and golden color. Heavily carbonated yet little head. Not much going on in this lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
