unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Jun 10, 2007 12 oz trademark grenade shaped bottle. Bright yellow, clear carbonation cascading to the surface. Aroma of mildew and cardboard. Flavors of sweet malts. Good summer beer. Overall kinda boring. JNSTEX (12), Bryan, Texas, USA Jun 9, 2007 Its drinkable i suppose, but its not my type of beer(too reminecent of mainstream lager beers)so, you should find something else on the shelf to consider first..I will not buy this beer again. TechMyst (166), Fox River Grove, Illinois, USA Jun 7, 2007 Such a high rating for this you ask?! For a lager no less...I had this straight from the 24 oz giant grenade. So for appearance I would have to guess between straw/gold. Aroma is faint malts. This seemed to be a very dry lager; which is odd also. Nothing really great or notable; but the drinkablity is excellent. rugbystud137 (4), Pennsylvania, USA does not count Jun 5, 2007 i got hooked on red stripe in the outer banks one summer. It’s been my favorite ever since. Perfect for summer. minch25 (346), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 5, 2007 Light nondescript aroma, light taste, slightly "fluffy", nothing offensive. A little thin-bodied. Not really anything to say about it. LordBeamish (144), Boozetown, Ontario, Canada Jun 3, 2007 Updated: Jun 12, 2007bottle Ahhhh.....the retro stubby brings me back to my earliest drinking days in the 80’s.....stealing the occassional stubby from the old man’s stash (this was the standard for Canadian macros for awhile)....anyways, I found this one to taste very ’syrupy’ with a disturbing aftertaste that I can only describe as white wine. Definately not your standard light tasting ’Island’ beer. I’m sure these would go down great while hammered on a two week vacation in Jamaica but there are too many better lager choices to give this one any time. Beerlando (2283), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2007 Cool bottle, but that’s where the fun ends. Pale gold-straw color with a very small white head. Aroma is malty. Flavor follows, with molasses and spice. Can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something unsettling about this beer. Doesn’t sit well with me. Slightly better than the average macro pale lager, but nothing special by any means. cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Jun 1, 2007 Rated 12/13/06: Take Budweiser down to Jamaica and package it in a grenade shaped bottle, and there you go it’s Red Stripe! The funky bottle is the only good aspect of this swill. Qualities are just like our typical american pale lagers. If you enjoy this one save yourself some cash and buy domestic.
