1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 tfredvik (293) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 7, 2011
Clear, pale yellow body with a medium white head that lasts for some time. Surprisingly good lacing. Nice-ish aroma with caramel and citrus. Medium sweet taste, an unpleasant sourness and a light to medium bitter finish. Some strange and not that pleasant flavours. Do I get wet paper? Strange, strange, strange. Lively carbonation, thin body, watery texture, dry finish. Nice bottle, bad beer.
[33 cl bottle, from ICA Hasle, Oslo]
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 onceblind (1338) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 5, 2011
Clear pale golden, no head after 25 seconds. Almost zero aroma, but what was there was corny, lager-malty, and a faint touch of nuttiness. Flavor was mostly the same...pale boring lager malt, corn, light nuttiness. Faint touch of bitterness, mostly sweet corn and sweet grain. Boring, but better than its macro bretheren.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bluejacket74 (640) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - AUG 4, 2011
24 ounce bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear straw gold color with about a half inch white head. Head retention and lacing are both average. Aroma is lightly sweet, the brew smells like sweet malt and grain/adjuncts. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, but there’s the addition of some light hops which helps lead to a slight bitter finish. Mouthfeel/body is light, and it’s crisp and well carbonated. It’s also smooth and easy to drink, which is a good thing on a hot day like this. For the style of beer this is, it isn’t bad at all. I’m not sure if I would pay $2.19 for a bottle of this again anytime soon, but there are certainly worse choices out there.
